Lexis schools Christmas festivals are events pupils, parents and teachers always look forward to. They get involved together in learning poems and songs, in projects and games.
Why students should celebrate Christmas?
Because the little festivals bring an entertaining distraction from the study stress brought by the entire school year. The children feel excited, joyous. The school environment gets uplifted with the positive energy of delight and celebration.
Because Christmas is all about celebration and offering. Students get to experience the joy of giving. Children are taught to make hand-made gifts for others.
Because the students read about Santa, the winter solstice, winter holiday traditions throughout the world and imporve their vocabulary. The second graders can learn writing friendly letters to Santa, not only asking for toys or gifts but also wishing something for the world. Peace for everyone for example, or help endangered animals, food for all, keeping the planet clean and green. This will instill the spirit of consideration for others in their tender minds.
To sum up then, Christmas is celebrated mainly in the classrooms and involve all the students. The purpose is not to discover talents, but to put parents, grandparents and students together. It is not a Talents show and it is not about performing. It is about offering and enjoying special moments together. We have had a lot of fun!
Merry Christmas from all of us! Sa va bucurati de un Craciun fericit si de un An Nou prosper!
